Cultural DevelopmentAbout UsCultural Development is a Department of the University of Ulster, within the portfolio of Communication and External Affairs. The Department's core vision is to cultivate links between the University and the wider world contributing to the growth and expression of the cultural richness of the University environment for the benefit of its staff, students and the region as a whole. Cultural Development initiates and delivers a varied programme of arts and cultural events and services on all four campuses throughout the year in association with staff and external partners. The events and initiatives delivered by Cultural Development are closely allied to the arts-related teaching and research in which the University is engaged and showcase some of the creative talent and ability emanating from the University as well as featuring visiting artists and practitioners of international distinction. These activities are diverse and representative of arts and culture in its broadest interpretation and include an extensive range of performances, concerts, master-classes, workshops, talks, screenings, exhibitions and outreach programmes as well as the management of a permanent collection of artworks. The breadth of the Department’s activity also attracts a broad range of audiences and stakeholders.
